Holly is a wife, stepmother, and cancer survivor trying to simplify her life with creative ways to be organized. She blogs at Coconut Head’s Cancer Survival Guide. Here are her tips for organizing suits and ties.
My husband is retired from the Army, and now wears a suit and tie to work every day. They have become the bane of my organizational existance! Ties fall through the tie racks and onto the closet floor, and neither of us can tell the difference between a blue and black suit, even in the best of light.
I repurposed a metal magazine holder on its side for a tie rack. The ties stay put much better. And even when the ties are not organized (as in the above picture), they are still easy to see and grab.
The suit organization idea is so simple, I wish I had thought of it years ago. I took a sharpie and marked “Blue” or “Black” on the hanger. That’s all it took!
