My family has discovered a new favorite lunch idea, pita pizzas! These mini pizzas are easy to make, fun for kids, and you don’t need to use the oven!

Pita Pizzas

Prep Time5 minutes mins
Cook Time5 minutes mins
Total Time10 minutes mins

Ingredients

  • Pita bread pocketless is better- homemade is best
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Pizza toppings

Instructions

  • Take your pita and cover with sauce.
  • Add cheese.
  • Add toppings.
  • Heat in toaster oven or grill (top rack) until cheese is melted.
  • Serve.

My kids prefer pepperoni and cheese, but what I like about these pita pizzas is that the adults can have their own pizza with “adult” toppings.

Topping Ideas

  • Hawaiian: Red sauce, mozzarella, ham and pineapple
  • White: Olive oil, mozzarella, asiago, feta, garlic, grilled chicken, red onion
  • Meat: Red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, hamburger, sausage
  • Japanese: Tuna mixed with mayo, corn
  • Taco: Salsa, cheddar cheese, taco meat, black olives

These pizzas are great to tween/ teen slumber parties. Kids can make their own individual pizza!

What a great idea! I have some leftover pitas in the freezer from our Gyros night last week. Guess what we’re having for lunch tomorrow? 🙂

Tortillas work really well for this too! They get nice and crispy on the grill 🙂

I had 6 children who are now grown. They all love pita pizzas. We had them often. So quick and easy!
