The next top round recipe is Sumptuous Steak Stir-Fry. I have to admit I was a little concerned when the beef people asked me to make this recipe because lately my kids haven’t been big fans of stir fry.
I however, LOVE stir fry. It is a great way to stretch meat in a meal as well as use up all those leftover vegetables. I am convinced that you can’t really go wrong with ingredients in stir-fry. After some deep thought (okay not really, it was more like process of elimination and interrogation) I realized that my kids don’t like soy sauce, so I made two batches- one with soy sauce, one without.
You can read the original recipe on the What’s For Dinner website, my modified version is below.
All but one of my kids loved the the steak stir-fry sans soy sauce. Stir-fry is also a great way to sneak vegetables into your kid’s meals. This dish was a hit and is definitely going into my recipe rotation.
Ingredients
- 1 small yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 medium carrots shredded
- 1 stalk celery, sliced
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced, divided
- Goya Adobo All Purpose Seasoning Steak Stir Fry
- Soy Sauce
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 3 cups hot cooked brown or white regular rice, prepared without butter or salt
Instructions
- Marinate the steak in olive oil, Goya seasoning, and minced onion for 2 to 3 hours.
- When you are ready to make the meal, cook the rice according to the package directions.
- While the rice is cooking start chopping the vegetables and the steak. (Depending on the type of rice you are preparing the vegetable chopping and rice cook time will probably be about the same.)
- Try not to spill half the bag of rice all over the floor while measuring it into the pan of boiling water. This will increase prep time and waste rice.
- Once the rice is cooked remove from the heat.
- Using a wok or a frying pan cook the steak on high (I use a tiny bit of butter) for about 3 minutes. You don’t want to over cook the steak.
- Remove the steak from the wok and add vegetables. You’ll want to cook the veggies in the steak juices.
- Cook the vegetables for about five minutes.
- Add the steak and rice to the vegetables in the pan.
- I sprinkled Goya seasoning and added soy sauce and cooked for another minute or two.
- Serve immediately.

That’s a toss up between regular steak on the grill or stir fry!
I love a good steak, but anything beef is a winner for me.

Boiled Dinner! I know, it doesn’t sound good, but it is yummy comfort food — Top Round, quartered potatoes, carrots in beef broth with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic, and a splash of wine,. Cook in the crock pot in the summer or the oven in winter. Serve with bread. Yummy!!!

I love steak fajitas served with rice and refried beans.
My favorite is a grilled London Broil sliced with either pico de gallo or sauted onion and mushrooms on top. Thanks for the chance to win.
Just a note – not all soy sauces are created equal. Jess never really cared for anything when I used soy sauce. Mainly because it just made the dish really salty and only tasted like soy. Try different brands. They will have a different/better taste.
We love pepper steak, which is probably similar to your delicious looking stir fry, but in our pepper steak dish the veggies are limited to green pepper barely cooked so it remains crisp, carmelized onions, and mushrooms! jgs0925(at)gmail(dot)com
I like fajitas for sure. Thanks for the entry!
My favorite beef dish steak on the grill, marinated in Stubbs.
We’ll have to try that adobo seasoning. We all like soy sauce, but a little less sodium certainly wouldn’t hurt us.
Roast beef sandwiches are my favorite thing on earth!
We’re big stir fry fans. As long as we keep any cheese (sometimes added to the kids’ to encourage them to eat the veggies) to a minimum, it’s nice and lean!
My favorite is beef stroganoff.
I’m not even trying to copy, but definitely stir-fry. I’m not really much of a meat person but I do like it thin sliced like that or small bits on marinated veggie kabobs. Yummy!
Beef and veggies kebobs
We love stir-fry and kabobs!
Fajitas all the way!
It is a tie between fajitas and beef stir fry.
I love beef and noodles over mashed potatoes!

Steak on the grill.
Fajita and stir-fry are definitely good (and a way to stretch the meat!), but a simple steak done right just can’t be beat!
I love a grilled steak salad. 3 oz grilled sirloin, mixed lettuce, grilled corn, peppers, & mushrooms (all grilled and basted with ff italian dressing) tomatoes and ranch. Yum!
I love fajitas, I need to try your fajita salad recipe!
We love slow cooker roast beef with vegetables. The leftovers are great for sandwiches (on homemade whole-wheat bread, of course!)
my favorite lean beef dish is grilled flank steak cut & tossed into penne pasta with arugula or spinach & a horseradish/lemon/rosemary dressing mixed in. Mmmmmm

My favorite lean beef dish is steak strips marinated in a Teriyaki sauce. They can be grilled on kebobs or pan sauteed.
We love spaghetti with lean beef! We add extra veggies to ours…green peppers, shredded carrots, and onion.
I love a good beef stir-fry, similar to what you have showed here. It is a great way to use up veggies in the crisper, so it is different every time. I make sure there is lots of garlic & soya sauce in it…and rice. Yum!
We like to eat the left-overs in a wrap…if there are any left-overs!
Carne asada tacos, AKA grilled steak tacos, with a sqeeze of fresh lime and a bit of salsa…yummy
