Jennifer at Monkey See, Monkey Do has a special low cupboard for her children’s dishes and flatware. It enables them to help unload the dishewasher and also retrieve the proper utensil or cup for a meal or snack.

We do the same thing. Ours also has the plasticware the kids use when they clear the table (for leftovers) and the recycled coffee creamer bottles they use as water bottles. Great tip!

We do this to. The kids dishes are in the bottom two drawers. The babies know they can play with those dishes and even the toddlers jump in to help set the table. Making the dishes available to them gives them just a little more independence.
