I’ve always wanted to make one of those cute tank dresses for my girls, but I never wanted to cut up one of their tank tops. I was at Goodwill the other day and found two orange tanks in my girls’ sizes. I thought a dollar for each was a little high, but I really wanted to make these dresses!
This project was so easy, and I wish I would have photographed the steps for a tutorial! I still have another one to make so there might a tutorial coming next week. Basically it is a bunch of rectangles, straight stitches, and a gathering stitch. The whole project took less than one hour from start to finish.
Total cost for the dress:
- Tank $1
- Fabric $2.50
- Total $3.50
In the pictures she is wearing a shirt under her dress. It was about 50 degrees on the porch so she was a little cold!
I love this little dress. Someone is going to have to restrain me from buying every tank I find at yard sales this summer!
