Thanks so much for your bathroom recommendations! You all are awesome! I've made notes from all your ideas and will be using lots of them. I also got a light fixture off a Facebook swap group earlier today so I'm excited to start putting the house back together. The past two days have been crazy. It feels like we have nothing to do on the house and then we have tons of stuff to do all at ...
Inexpensive Bathroom Redo: Day 29
Today I decided to mix things up a bit and go to Lowes. I probably should have stuck with Home Depot because Lowes didn't have two of the lights I was looking for and the cashier forgot to give me one of my bags so I paid for spray paint that I didn't take out of the store. I'll be going back tomorrow to pick up my paint to redo the vents. Today we worked on hooking up the washer and ...
Building a Wall: Day 28
Today I spent the entire day at the house working. But not working on the house, working on my computer. I had to wait for our washer and dryer to be delivered, so I set up shop in our family room. Try not to be jealous of my amazing view. :-) This afternoon the guys came over and started building the wall. They won't actually get the wall completed before we move in, but we ...
Demo Starts Again: Day 26 & 27
I mentioned last week that the painting delay gave us time to do some extra projects. Extra projects like rip out another part of the wall and build a room. :-) I guess I'm a girl who loves demo because we keep doing it. Before I share what we started on Saturday, a quick drywall update. The orange peel has been sprayed on all the walls that had wallpaper removed as well as the ...
More Brown Paper: Day 24
I was able to finish taping off the walls and ceilings, although I ended up with a migraine so that's all I did. As I was taping with the paper I realized it reminded me of wrapping Christmas presents and instead of a new toy, when I rip off the paper I will have new walls. :-) DH and the boys started cleaning out the garage since our kitchen cabinets will be delivered on Tuesday. We ...
Prepping for Orange Peel: Day 23
Our new handyman is doing a great job. Today my oldest daughter and I went over to the house to tape off doors, windows, and ceilings to protect them from the orange peel overspray. This included the dining room, hall, entry, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. We almost got the entire thing finished. I'm headed back in the morning to get it finished up. Our guy gave us this paper and tape ...
