Chip and Veggie Dip at The Happy Housewife

My sister’s mother-in-law gave me this delicious dip recipe last week. I made a huge batch of it for the party and it was almost all gone by the end of the night. It was so good I made it again two days later!

Mama Jones’ Chip and Veggie Dip

Author: Toni Anderson

Ingredients

  • 1 jar of medium picante sauce
  • 2 8- ounce blocks of cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  • Soften cream cheese by letting it sit out for a few hours or putting in the microwave for minute or two.
  • Add picante sauce and stir. I used a potato masher and it worked well to get rid of the cream cheese clumps.
  • Add mayo, garlic, and lemon juice and mix.
  • Chill before serving

Ohhh, this is so good. I make a slightly different variation ALL the time. Here is what I do:

    1 brick of cream cheese
    1 container of sour cream
    1 jar of salsa

    Delicious~!!

I might actually be able to get hubby to eat cream cheese if there’s salsa in it! Thanks!

This sounds delish! I love trying new dips. 😀 I make a hot one with cream cheese, salsa or rotel and sausage. 😀

Yum! I love making dip with cream cheese, it’s so versatile. My favorite is just to mince some garlic and add a little veggie bullion into whipped cream cheese. Simple, but very tasty!

This looks great! We make a similar salad dressing at our house.

    1 c mayo or 1/2 mayo 1/2 sour cream
1/2 to 3/4 c salsa (depends on how loose you like your dressing
    garlic
    lemon juice

It’s so good for taco salads! I will definitely have to make this dip though…I love cream cheese :)Thanks for sharing!
