Salisbury Steak (This is a great recipe for those who do not like mushrooms!)

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 package Lipton’s French Onion Soup Mix
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can beef gravy
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 1 beef bullion cube
  • 1 package egg noodles or rice

Make hamburger patties using ground beef, bread crumbs, egg and soup mix. Fry or grill until cooked through. While hamburgers are cooking mix together in a bowl gravy, sour cream and bullion cube. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with nonstick and lay cooked patties in the pan. Cover the patties with the sour cream mixture. Bake covered for 25 minutes @ 350 degrees. Serve with egg noodles or rice.

This is delicious! I didn’t quite follow the recipe to a T though. I didn’t have a can or jar of beef gravy, so I used a mix from a packet. I omitted the bullion cube because it sounded like there was plenty of salt from the gravy mix, onion soup mix and I used seasoned bread crumbs. We didn’t have any egg noodles, so I used spaghetti. I also skipped the baking step entirely. When the patties were done, I put a pile of spaghetti on each plate, added a patty, and poured on the sauce. YUM YUM YUM. The best tasting thing I’ve eaten this year (after chocolate of course).
