Fudge ~ Quick and Simple

This fudge is so easy and delicious your friends will think you slaved hours in the kitchen with thermometers, double boilers, and fancy ingredients.

Grandma Kathy’s Microwave “Never Fail” Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1lb powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix 1lb powdered sugar and cocoa in a 9×9 microwave safe dish. Drop in 1/2 cup butter cut into pieces. Pour in 1/4 cup milk. Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts, vanilla and peanut butter. Refrigerate for one hour, then cut into squares.

This homemade fudge is definitely cheaper than store bought fudge and tastes just as good! It is a great last minute dessert idea too, it only takes about an hour and fifteen minutes from start to eating.

  1. This sounds great. I love the idea of chocolate and peanut butter.

I’m going to try this tomorrow with the boys. I need to bring snack for the Mom’s Room at Coop on Friday and this sounds good and easy!

  3. Stacy says:

We may have to try this one. I’m wondering though if we could make it on the stove, rather than the microwave. I really don’t like to use the microwave since it kills any good nutrients in the food.

  4. Sherry says:

This sounds delicious! How many watts is your microwave? Mine is 1100 watts so wanted to make sure I don’t burn the fudge. :D

  5. I like easy and fudge, so WINNER. Just wanted you to know that Mr. Linky has been revived. I am posting everyone’s links. Thanks for your patience, today.

  6. Stacy says:

I made this recipe for our gifts in a jar class today. The fudge was gone within minutes! Very easy, yummy recipe! I got lots of compliments on it. I am going to post a link back to your blog on Tuesday for those who may have missed out on this terrific recipe.

How are you feeling these days? When are you due?

  7. JennaG says:

I made this last night and it was a real hit. I made two batches–one with nuts and one without. I like nuts, but my favorite was the smooth fudge without nuts. Thanks for sharing.

I have this recipe and just made it last weekend but without the peanut butter. It was good but the consistency to me was not like true fudge. It didn’t stop me from eating half the pan…but it just wasn’t exactly it.

  10. Val says:

Um, are there any “good nutrients” in fudge? LOL

  11. TheHappyHousewife says:

Doesn’t chocolate have some good nutrients? :)

I’m craving your Mom’s fudge and I’m going to make it NOW!!
