I think I’ve shared with you in the past how much I dislike Black Friday shopping. It is cold, crowded, and I’m always afraid I’m going to be run over in the parking lot by some crazed person trying to get a $5 crock pot.
I know many of you love it, so if you are looking for the best Black Friday ads deals for 2011 you can find them on Savings Lifestyle.
But if you are like me and prefer to stay at home and eat leftover pie for breakfast I have something for you.

I will be home most of the day for sure, except for possibly an insane moment or two if I can get a trampoline for my son. Otherwise I’m happy to be at home this year letting everyone else go crazy.

So with you on that! The only deal I might consider (sending my husband out for on his way to work) is presto logs at our local hardware store. They will almost be half off! We decided to just buy for the kids this year and just enjoy the season and all it really means.

.I love black friday…not for why you might think. Sometimes I don’t buy anything!! it’s about a family tradition for me! I have taken my teenage neices for the past 4 or 5 years. They look forward to it every year. We shop at midnight…it is so much fun and so many stories to tell. My oldest niece, is a senior this year so I won’t have her for many more years to do this with! I think for a lot of folks Black Friday is a fun tradition..not just crazy materialistic madness.

I am pro-homemade and anti-black Friday, but mostly I am in favor of eating pie for breakfast!

I’m with you! Never been/never plan on going black friday shopping. And I am ALL about the homemade gifts. On this years list of gifts to make are jars of homemade tomato sauce, homemade hot cocoa mix, crochet ear bands, and wall art made from scrapbook paper. Michael’s rewards care: prepare to get a LOT of use this holiday season!
Looking forward to seeing your ideas!

Last year was my first time going black Friday shopping, it was fun and not too crazy but most of the fun was going out with my sister and step mom and the thrill of a good deal. This year we’re not visiting family so I’m staying put. I love the idea of a handmade black friday though! I can use that time to crank out some gifts and eat pie and be warm.

We have a love-hate relationship with black Friday in our home. I have stopped using it for gifts and Christmas shopping. I simply shop throughout the year. You know, you pass buy the aisle and see something that is just *perfect* for so and so and it is a good price…well, I pick it up, even if it is February or June. That said, we do use black Friday to save on household needs. This year our vacuum has died and it is being held together by everyone’s favorite…duct tape! So, we (by we I mean my wonderful husband) plan to be in line at dreaded 3am to get $100 off a vacuum. There are other big ticket items we have done this with over the years. Sonicare toothbrushes are spendy, but have been crazy cheep on Black Friday. So, while we do participate, it is begrudgingly and only because I don’t think there is enough duct tape in the world to keep my vacuum running another month.

Love it! I have never shopped a Black Friday and don’t plan to start. Cyber Monday is the best thing that happened to this crazy weekend of shopping. I’ll be sure to pull up my Facebook and check out these homemade gift ideas while I’m enjoying some leftovers! Thanks.
