I love being organized. I love organizing. I love tools that help me stay organized. With seven kids things can go from organized to chaotic in a matter of seconds, so I try to use whatever tools available to keep things running smoothly.
Not only that, but after having seven kids I think my brain cells have started shrinking. There was a time when I didn’t need a calendar, grocery list, or reminders on my phone. I knew the time and location of every soccer game, every orthodontist appointment, and when the a/c filters needed to be changed.
Something happened after the seventh baby that caused all my mom super powers to be zapped! I now consider it a win if I remember to bring all the kids home from church!
I’ve always used Post-it Notes for my business. I write tasks on the notes and rearrange them according to priority and throw them away or cross things off as I complete them.
I also stick them on doors, cabinets, and the fridge as reminder notes for my family. I was pretty excited to learn about the Home Collection, a complete line of organization products from the Post-it® Brand, Scotch® Brand and Command™ Brands.
I used to tape lists and messages to the inside of my cabinet, but I don’t have to anymore now that I have the Post-it View and Go Pockets.
These are great for pizza or lunch money, medical information for babysitters, receipts you need to save, library lists, or even favorite recipes.
The pockets are easy to mount (you just stick them on) and remove easily too.
I’ve always been a fan of refrigerator notes. My kids will even add items to the grocery list when it is mounted on our fridge. Our last fridge did not have magnetic doors so I was unable to use my notepad.
The Post-it Planner & Perforated List Pad has a stick strip backed pad that sticks firmly to the fridge and can withstand the constant open and closing of the door. It’s great for grocery lists, reminders, or even to-do’s for the family each day.
One of my favorite products is the Post-it Reminder Tags. I use to leave 3×5 card notes on my family’s things so they didn’t forget something important like lunch or money or lunch money.
The problem with placing cards on bags or backpacks is that they tend to fall off when the person grabs the bag and they never see the reminder.
These little tags are brightly colored, (very noticeable) and the ends stick together to make a tag. You can write the reminder on the tag with a pencil, pen, or sharpie. The tags can be removed easily so your family doesn’t feel like the kid coming home from school with the note safety pinned to their shirt.
One product I’m super excited about using next school year are the Scotch Display Frames to display kids’ art work. As a homeschool family we have no shortage of art and craft projects in our house and my kids love to see their work displayed around the house.
What I love about Post-it Products is that they use 3M brand adhesive which sticks so well and then removes without making damaging marks. For a family like us who moves regularly this is a great bonus.
If you haven’t checked out the Home Collection line of storage and organizing products you definitely should while you are doing your spring cleaning.
