Today I spent the entire day at the house working. But not working on the house, working on my computer.
I had to wait for our washer and dryer to be delivered, so I set up shop in our family room.
Try not to be jealous of my amazing view. 🙂
This afternoon the guys came over and started building the wall. They won’t actually get the wall completed before we move in, but we wanted to get framing up and the paneling attached on the side that is being painted this week.
We aren’t painting the green room yet since it will be demo’d later this year, or early next year.
They were able to get the framing completely finished this afternoon, although I wasn’t able to get a final photo because I had an event with my little girls.
There will be a four foot opening for my office “barn” door, which will not be installed until I purchase the hardware and we make the door. 🙂
When we opened up the wall we also found an old rat’s nest. So gross, so, so, gross. Thankfully it is an old nest, but we might need to do a little investigating to make sure we don’t have any unwanted tenants.
The washer and dryer arrived and since I thought we would have our stuff by now I didn’t order any of the hoses or dryer tubes because we have several extra from all our moves.
Of course they are all in storage right now and we don’t have access to government storage. I’ll probably be buying some hoses tomorrow. I’m sure the people at Home Depot know me and the kids by now. We go there almost every day.
The kids actually think it is fun to look at toilets and bathtubs. I’m pretty sure that’s not normal for an eight year olds but I’m not complaining.
Tomorrow we get the cabinets, and I’ll probably be making another trip to Home Depot. I need to pick out bathroom faucets and lighting for the living room. More details coming tomorrow, it’s late and this whole “fall back” time thing has me waking up at 5am so it’s past my bedtime already!
This is part of our ongoing renovation project for our new home in Florida. Our goal is to be done by Thanksgiving or else. Follow the daily accounts of our real life during this DIY renovation process here.
