From The Happy Husband…
We took a short day today because Toni’s sister flew in for a short visit. We cleaned up a bit and removed some redundant wiring. The kids swept and used the shop vac to get the leftover thinset and black goo.
Toni’s dad brought out an orbital sander for the walls. It cut through the glue and left a smooth surface for painting. Well see if it looks good enough for the painter.
Some of the guys who helped us out earlier came by again and did some drywall repair. I should have watched Toni’s dad when he was working with them so I could learn. I’m sure I’ll get another chance.
I still need boots.
This is part of our ongoing renovation project for our new home in Florida. Our goal is to be done by Thanksgiving or else. Follow the daily accounts of our real life during this DIY renovation process here.

I’m enjoying watching the renovations and will be working on a project myself soon. But much smaller 950sqft. I may have missed this but do you have a list of all the projects for the new house on your blog? I’m thinking that it would be nice to see the To Do list and even better when you start crossing off items on the list. Another blogger did this (YHL) and it seems to help keep all the different projects going on organized for the readers. Just a suggestion – I look forward to your posts everyday (been reading you guys since before Cora was born). Keep up the great work!

I have it on a spread sheet on my computer. I just need to get it transferred to the blog. Thanks for the reminder!

LOL- love the last picture! That’s the best tool to have when doing this – a sense of humor!
