From The Happy Husband…
Today was got a lot done. The tile guy came to finish and did a great job. We have practically filled the 20 yard dumpster so…
…I was thankful that he loaded the tiles, thinset, and unidentified black goop in his own trailer.
I took down the sliding glass door between the family room and what will become Toni’s office with no broken glass! I did tear a hunk out of my foot but that was a small price to pay. I packed out my Navy boots when I should have brought them. Steel toes and leather seem more appropriate to this job.
The kids jumped right in with the “safe scrapers” that I ordered. I armed them with the plastic razor blades and the vinegar/water sprayer and they attacked the wallpaper glue. It worked very well.
The black goo on the family room floor came up nicely. We will probably need to grind the floor to put down hardwood without a float but it looks 100 times better.
All in all, a productive day.
