Daisha is a wife and homeschooling mom who uses lists to help keep her family organized. She says,
“I started one thing with my son when he was about 3 or 4 and it has grown with him. I started making lists. This list has saved many fights and misunderstandings. They are more about making life long habits.
We have 4 note cards taped to the bathroom mirror (morning, daytime, extra chore, and bed time). They are also on a reward system (video games, computer time, and allowance). The key is sitting down with both parents and making the list and the rewards.
When the daytime list is done, he can pick a video game or movie or tv time. He knows that he should not even ask unless the lists are done! I don’t have to ask everyday if things are done and it has helped our relationship. We used pictures and magazine cut outs before he could read.”
