Did you find your small “trouble” spot yesterday? It took me about 15 minutes to clean and declutter my kitchen drawer this morning.
One thing I noticed as I cleaned out the drawer was the large amount of tiny bits of yuck gathering in the corners. As you declutter that drawer, bookshelf, cabinet, basket, or toy box don’t forget to give it a good cleaning before you put items back inside. It doesn’t make sense to have an organized space that is dirty!
I found 20 items to recycle and throw away in one drawer! This puts me a few steps closer to reaching my goal of getting rid of 730 items in 2010.

I rotated all the kids clothes. They had all had growth spurts, so I went through their drawers, packed up a garage sale box, folded everything and put it away. Then I repacked and reorganized our clothing bins. I was able to get rid of 2 boxes!

I attacked my hall/coat closet. I got rid of a winter coat, winter vest, pair of gloves, a sweater, a Halloween costume, and I put an out of place item where it belonged. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it looks a lot more organized since I straightened things up as I purged.

Toni, you are so funny. Your ‘before’ pictures always look better than my ‘after’ pictures. LOL. I am getting into the spring cleaning, though. I enjoy your blogs. They help keep me motivated. Thanks.

off to check this Clean Home, Fresh Start out. We are PCSing in June and I could always use a bit of motivation of getting things squared away before the movers come. One book that transformed the way I keep my house is called A House That Cleans Itself. Amazing book!!!!!

Didn’t know that you too have a cleaning idea for this month. I took the plunge and joined both MSM’s and Life as Mom’s cleaning decluttering challenges. I think one of the most difficult areas for me (okay besides my whole house) is the homeschooling stuff. I hate to part with items…
