Bacon Cheese Dip in a Bread Bowl

This picture has nothing to do with the post, other than it was taken the same weekend I was introduced to Mrs. Miller and her amazing bacon cheesy creation.

This dip was served at our annual 4th of July gathering. It was so yummy I just stood by the bread bowl and ate it for about an hour, hoping no one would notice. It isn’t healthy but it is delicious! Bringing this to a gathering will guarantee you a repeat invite, as long as you bring the dip.

My family loves this only we call it BLT dip. Mix in some diced tomatoes and top the whole thing with shredded lettuce. I also will add a little sour cream to the mix if I have any on hand. Mmmmmm.

No excuse needed, just serve it for dinner! Add some carrots on the side and you have a balanced meal, lol!

This sounds delicious but a quick question. Do you cover the bread with foil? It seems like the bread would get burnt if in the oven for 1 hour. Thanks!

No need to cover, it gets a little brown but that just makes the bowl a little more crispy. Always use the bread ( from the interior of the bowl) and toasted and the bowl itself, as dippers, this bowl will not have anything left of itself in the end. That’s how wonderful it is

My arteries are clogging just thinking about this. Which, of course, means that I must make it… and hopefully not just for myself! :X
