Frugal Pantry Inventory Check List

Do you know everything that is in your pantry?  Currently I’m fortunate to have extra pantry space, but it makes keeping track of what I have difficult.

When I shop, I love to stock up on the grocery items that are on sale. I know that our favorite pasta goes on sale once a month. The kids’ cereal every six weeks. If I stock up when the items are at the lowest price I can save a lot of money on our monthly grocery budget.

However, it doesn’t help me if I stock up and then forget I purchased the item. Occasionally I’ve thrown out an unopened bottle or can of food because it expired hiding in the back of the pantry.

The two best ways I know to save the most money with a frugal pantry is to keep it organized and have a running list of what you already have.

It has become a monthly chore for my children to reorganize the pantry (since they are typically the ones guilty of not putting things back where they belong).

Utilizing what’s in your freezer and pantry before making your meal plan and shopping list each week will help you save big and keep from buying things you already have at home.

We’ve created two Pantry Inventory printables for you to download and track everything in your pantry.

The pantry checklist is a list of everything I keep in my pantry to make frugal yet delicious and nutritious meals. I stock up on these frugal staples when they are on sale for additional savings.

The inventory worksheet allows you to track everything you have in your pantry. (I recommend laminating the sheet so you can write on it with dry erase marker as you replenish your food)

Finally, we have pantry labels that came about because years ago my daughter labeled every shelf in our pantry to make things easier to find.

This will simplify menu planning and saving money at the grocery store!

We’re also including our pantry labels. Print these color labels and attach them to your pantry shelves so your family knows where to put all the groceries.
