Ahoy, matey! Mark your calendars because September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day!
Did you know many places give away some freebies if you dress up in pirate attire and/or talk like a pirate?! Be sure to call your local establishment to see if they are participating this year! Places that have participated in the past have been: Krispy Kreme, Long John Silvers, TGI Fridays, and Burger King. Again, each place in different towns offer different freebies so please call ahead!

- ahoy – hello
- arrgh – can mean anything, so use it often
- bucko – friend
- grub – food
- shiver me timbers – expression of surprise

Be sure to watch The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything and enjoy a simple pirate snack. Cheese cubes make great “pirate gold” and cut oranges make great “ships.”
