January’s Homeschool Unit is Vikings! We studied Vikings a few years ago and it was one of my children’s favorite units. My boys especially enjoyed the unit but girls will love it too!
Here are my book recommendations for the Viking Unit Study. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for my Viking Pin Board.

I think that you need to come to Minnesota, Viking country!

We are doing a short unit on Vikings, too! We just read You wouldn’t want to be a Viking Explorer, which 5 year old son enjoyed. We will be also be reading Beorn the Proud as our Read Aloud. I didn’t know there was a Sir Cumference Viking book and I just checked online and none of the libraries in my county have it – I hate to miss that one! I love those Sir Cumference books! I’m going to read Elizabeth Janeway’s The Vikings along with my 11 year old. I think it will be too much for my K’er but 11 year old is a strong reader! Have fun with your Viking Unit. I’m hoping to find some cool craft ideas for us to do, too!
