5 Frugal Women’s Winter Wardrobe Tips
Shop the Men’s Department
Ok, this might sound crazy, but, sometimes the men’s department is having a sale while the women’s is not. Check out sweaters, jackets, long sleeved tees, and even pants in the men’s department for great deals that can absolutely fit and flatter your body just like women’s styles.
Dye Sweaters a New Color
Tired of last year’s colors and styles? Grab some clothing dye and create a fun bright new colored sweater this year! This idea is great for lighter colored sweaters. Greens, reds, oranges, and browns are always easy and fun for fall and winter.
Shop Thrift Stores
You can often find great low priced gently worn clothing for women at thrift shops. Name brand clothing for under $5 per piece is common at Savers and Goodwill. While it takes some time and patience to find, it is well worth your time when you find that $100 pair of jeans for only $5 with tags still on them.
Add Trendy Accessories
Things like the always popular infinity scarf, large pieces of jewelry, skinny belts, and fun boot cuffs are often inexpensive and on sale at sites like Jane, ToAdorn, Amazon and even Kohl’s.
Makeover Older Garments
Add embellishments, create dresses from skirts, or simply add a fun bright colored patch to a hole on a pair of jeans. Making over older garments can be a ton of fun to do and a great way to save money.

I really like the suggestion you give to add trendy accessories! As a poor college student, it can be hard to always get new items in my wardrobe and keep my clothes looking fresh and my style feeling new. That being said, I agree that adding a scarf, bulky necklace, belt, or even boots are all creative and cheap ways to upgrade your closet and help you to look stylish during any season.
