I couldn’t really think of the right words for this post title because nothing could really capture my excitement right now. While it might look like I am busy blogging away in Maryland, I am actually in England.
Can I get a WOOT?
My husband told asked me two weeks ago if I wanted to accompany him on his next business trip. He had already arranged for our children to be taken care of and made most of the arrangements. Thanks to his extremely frugal living while on all his other trips, my part of the trip was almost paid for with his per diem.
I have been here for two days and it is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I wish I was a better photographer, so my pictures could reflect the beauty of this area. It is breathtaking at times, and I am completely enamored by the old buildings and of course the accent. Below is a slide show of my first two days.
I have many stories to tell already, but for now I will share my photos. If you click through you can read descriptions for some of the photographs.

Lucky! I have been to England once. We spent a couple of days in London, mostly doing research at the British Museum. But my favorite part was up north near New Castle by Hadrian’s Wall. Gorgeous countryside!

OH! What beautiful and creative photography and what a wonderful trip! My husband was stationed in Uxbridge, England many years ago (air force) before I met him. We took a trip there 19 years ago to spend time in London and Uxbridge, and so that I could see where he had been. I have always regretted all of the photos I didn’t take. So I NEED to go back! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing the photos, Toni. I love England cuz I lived there for 2 years while serving with the US Air Force. I call it my second home. I love all the history and their archetecture and would love to go back for a month. Have a good time!! God bless and make sure you visit a tea house at least once!! :0)

Where abouts are you? DH is stationed here and we live about an hour north of London. You MUST visit a pub! We’re not drinkers at all, but the atmosphere is great. Most are even “kid friendly” before a certain time. The fish and chips are classic, and the bangers and mash are a good choice as well. Hope you have a GREAT time! I’m sure you’re enjoying that tub

We are UK expats currently living in Dubai and now I’m “homesick”. And so glad that you are enjoying London. Hope the weather’s not being too atrocious! A good way to see the sights is on an open top bus tour with live commentary. It is a bit pricey but if you don’t have a lot of time it’s a great way to spend a day and they throw in a boat ride on the Thames as well. Excellent photo ops!

I would have to say that is one of the few NICE benefits of a traveling husband. I love it when I’m able to go with Dave when he travels.
