Today I installed a toilet paper holder.
A towel holder.
A cabinet.
And a mirror.
This isn’t really different from any other weekend as I often tackle the DIY projects around my house.
Except today there was no one to take the kids out for lunch or play with them or even help them clean their rooms while I was working.
There are not enough hours in the day to be me and him….
My husband has been deployed to the Middle East for 274 days. These are my real thoughts expressing my heart during his absence. I appreciate your prayers and kind words as we cope, adapt, and carry on without him until August 2014. To read from the beginning, click here.

I feel your pain…my husband is almost finished with his 3rd deployment. Everyone says it gets easier but the real trick is to remember that every day gets you closer to your reunion. Best of luck to you all.

I completely understand. We are an Army Reserve family. My husband got back in September 2012 from a one year deployment only to be mobilized for another year one year later. He’s been gone four weeks now and I agree that there is not enough of us to be both mom and dad. I have been relating to your struggles these first few days of your husband being gone. Praying for safety for your husband and sanity for you!

As Veteran’s Day approaches, I am humbly reminded of the sacrifices. Thank you and we will be uplifting your family in prayer.
