Homemade Christmas Gift #60: Photo Tile Coasters

I love this homemade gift. It takes a little time so don’t wait until the last minute to make these.

Head over to Oopsey Daisy for the tutorial.

Good morning! I would like to say that I love The Happy Housewife! Although I am a high school English teacher, I still consider myself a housewife when I am not at work:)

I have a question about the tile coaster projects. I love these. However, I once had a set and everytime a glass would get condensation, it would start sliding off the coaster. Any suggestions to prevebt that?

Thanks for your wonderful information and the encouragement you give to all women!

You would probably need to ask that question to the person who did the craft tutorial. Here’s the link. http://thehappyhousewife.com/home-management/photo-tile-coasters/

I just made my first set of these and I would like to stress the importance of gluing down the pictures. I used simple rubber cement thinking the resin would fully coat and it was no big deal. Well the miniscule rise in the edges caused extra bubbling and some uneven edges. Now I might have to do a second coat of resin. Secondly I will make double the resin next time. I made just enough and I think everything would have been much easier if I could have been more careless and just dumped it on. In the end I love this project. One last thing, I would never do more than 6 at a time esp. if you are blowing bubbles out with a straw. Thanks for this idea!

    Hey there,

I just wanted to share that I LOVE this project! I saw it and knew that it would be something that my creatively-challenged self could do. I made two sets and it was so easy. Even as they are setting up now, I keep walking by and admiring how wonderful they look. Thank you so much for sharing this Homemade gift idea! I cannot wait until an anniversary or some other occasion comes so that I might do these again. 🙂
