Heroes At Home: Free Sears Gift Cards for Military

by Toni Herrbach

Update: This program is now closed. They received over 25,000 applications in less than 24 hours. There should be another program next year, hopefully I’ll be able to give you some advanced notice.

Heroes at Home: Gift Cards for Military from Sears

Back again for 2010, the Sears Heroes at Home program is open to all military families. Active Duty military can receive a free gift card from Sears to help with Christmas in 2010.

The 2010 Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry helps America’s military families enjoy more of Christmas each year.
In 2009, over 20,000 military families participated in the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry program and received more than $6.7 million in gift card donations from the Sears community.

To sign up, visit the Sears website for all details and information. This program opens on October 13, 2010 at 9 am CST and closes on October 15, 2010 at 6pm 2010. Sign up now because this doesn’t last long. The Sears website will experience delays because of the high traffic from this deal. Don’t give up, keep trying and eventually the page will load.

You are eligible for this program if you are on active duty between October 13, 2010 and December 31, 2010 in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Reserves. You can read all the details and fine print on the Sears FAQ page.

Thank you Sears for Supporting our Troops in 2010!

    Hi,

I just called Sears and they said that since there are so many this year, we should receive the e-gift cards sometime today or tomorrow! 🙂 SO, we should just keep checking throughout the day! :)Happy Holidays & God Bless!

The email confirmation I got said that if we haven’t gotten an email with our gift card information by tomorrow 11/22, to email heroesathome@sears.com with our name, wish registry ID number, and phone number. I haven’t gotten anything else from them yet, but I assume I will hear something tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Probably because I got the same thing and then on Monday, I got an email from them saying that they needed more information from me. You can call 1-800-416-9501. That phone number is just for Heroes at Home. They were very helpful to me and should be able to tell you whether or not your registration went through.

I just called the 1800 number on the FAQ site and the representative said they are experiencing technical difficulties, but the site should be back up later today and will still be available through the 15th. YAY! So if you didn’t get a chance to sign up yet, it sounds like there will still be a chance. 🙂

I tried doing it from home and it wouldnt let me, but he had already done it at work, trying to surprise me. 🙂 But they listed a phone number 1-800-416-9501 to register over the phone. It never mentioned APOs. I tried to call, but it wouldn’t take my call. I assume it was flooded with calls. I put down APO in the city, and put down New York as the state, since the mail gets routed there anyway. I used my APO zip code. I was told they only check the name and birthday for validation.

Redo it with your husband’s info. They run each application thru and check the information provided to make sure that person is active duty – if you used ur name it will get denied. Do it again and use the Sponsor’s info. =)
