London Eye

When I told my children I was going to London, they all begged me to ride the London Eye. Given my dislike of heights, enclosed spaces, and ferris wheels I gave them a big no! But I did get some pictures, so kids, these are for you!

Roll on January and I am back home!! Just over two weeks for me to regain all my british accent. Although I don’t think I will be in London for much of the trip.

Oh, it’s been 16 years that I was in London. So it’s been a while. Thanks for posting those pictures – we had a great time and love to think back!

Thanks for the photos of the London Eye. I think I might have gone on it. That’s about the only ride I like any more. Have fun!!!

No, I’m with you on the ride. I don’t mind heights at all, but the last time I rode a Ferris Wheel I was sick for the whole day. My mommy tummy can’t handle the slow turning loop any more.
I know you would have gladly spent the money, but you got the best of both worlds – no stomach sickness and you still got fabulous photos. 🙂

The London Eye is not that scary, I went on it and I don’t like heights either. I bet you didn’t do it because you didn’t want to spend the money when really you missed out on a fantastic opportunity to take awesome photos.

Great pics, but that looks horrifying! I rode the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago and that was just awful!

My sister and I were in London in August 08. I tried the London eye and I had a panic attack. My sister went to the Doctor Who exhibit in London and Cardiff, Wales. We did the bus and boat tours and they were excellent definitely worth the money. A great place to have Fish and chips was the Sherlock Holmes pub. When you road the bus you got them for 3 pounds. Anyone that has been to England can tell you eating out is expensive. We stayed in a B & B near Kensington Palace and Park. I would love to go back and to take the kids.

Oh, the London Eye is FABULOUS! It doesn’t feel enclosed at all. I’ve ridden it twice and can’t wait to do it again!

We are UK expats currently living in Dubai and now I’m “homesick”. And so glad that you are enjoying London. Hope the weather’s not being too atrocious! A good way to see the sights is on a “hop on, hop off” open top bus tour with live commentary. It is a bit pricey but if you don’t have a lot of time it’s a great way to spend a day and they throw in a boat ride on the Thames as well. Excellent photo ops! I think one of the companies is the Big Bus Company.

I definitely agree- if you are short on time, the tour buses are the way to go! I think it’s worth it not to have to navigate the city yourself. The tube can be very overwhelming!
      HAVE FUN!!!

Isn’t London fantastic!! While you are there if you have any time at all do one of the London Walks. We did the Along the Thames Pub Walk and learned so much cool stuff. Here is the website. I doubt you will be disappointed.
