So this happened today.
That is my brother-in-law, defying the laws of physics and possibly gravity, so he could hang the new light fixture my sister and I found on sale at Lowes. We will probably be banned from Lowes for the next five years.
Then this happened.
Note to self, don’t leave the ladder out after a project is finished. And yes, that is Cora on the ledge.
Since the day they saw the house for the first time they’ve wanted to make the ledge into a reading nook, with books, treehouse type of ladder, and of course a railing.
I’ve been against that idea until this happened. I was actually a little proud of them for being brave enough to get up there and thought it would be kind of cool to have a little space to read and escape.
My dad is coming in a few weeks – I just might have a project for him to work on while he is here.
I didn’t follow through on my commitment to myself to NOT be checking co-op homework on Sunday night. Once again I was irritated at 7:30pm as I checked for simple subjects and names of glaciers.
Maybe next week.
My husband has been deployed to the Middle East for 274 days. These are my real thoughts expressing my heart during his absence. I appreciate your prayers and kind words as we cope, adapt, and carry on without him until August 2014. To read from the beginning, click here.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this co-op situation with the kiddos. We homeschooled our girls for 6 years. It began at a difficult time in our life and I wasn’t so thrilled to pull them out of school to be homeschooled. Long story why and what was going on but it was God leading us the entire time to do this and to homeschool during this time of our life as a family. I can say that today, looking back and the hows and whys we did what we did. I never put them in a co-op because it we didn’t have one near us but we did have some group activities and such. Through homeschooling they met some life long, real, true and honest people and friends. They learned a lot. They thrived and survived.
I, too, believe that God has his powerful hand in this entire co-op situation for your family. From what I have read on your blog, It is giving you something to channel annoyance into, giving the kids consistency, giving you a reason to keep doing even though some days all the doing you have strength for seems to just get up and each morning.
You have people praying for you all over the place. We have added your husband on our Church prayer list for those who are serving and for your family while you hold it all together. God will continue to give you strength to do what needs to be done. Keep writing because you don’t even know who you are helping and reaching out to with your words. God knows. He has a plan.
hugs and prayers, susie
