Today it snowed. My family has a love/ hate relationship with the snow. I hate it, everyone else loves it.
I like looking at snow, but I don’t like the fact that my kids spend the entire day going outside/ inside and using up every pair of socks and gloves trying to stay warm.
I do like that my children are old enough to make hot chocolate, and share a mug with me.
We tried to get school done today- but it is really, really hard to compete with snow.
The kids ended their day with a snowball fight with the neighbors. This was actually pretty cool because I live in a neighborhood where no one (and I mean no one) goes outside to play. The neighbors are actually a little older than my kids, but I have information from my nine year old that my seven year old was a beast and won the snowball fight for her team.
The other good thing about the snow, the kids forgot about Disney for a few minutes so I only get fifteen questions about it instead of a hundred.
As much as I dislike snow (and being cold) the snow was a very nice distraction today.
I still haven’t done laundry, but nobody is complaining about it… yet.
My husband has been deployed to the Middle East for 274 days. These are my real thoughts expressing my heart during his absence. I appreciate your prayers and kind words as we cope, adapt, and carry on without him until August 2014. To read from the beginning, click here.
