My family has a love\/ hate relationship with the snow. I hate it, everyone else loves it.<\/p>\n<p>I like looking at snow, but I don&#8217;t like the fact that my kids spend the entire day going outside\/ inside and using up every pair of socks and gloves trying to stay warm.<\/p>\n<p>I do like that my children are old enough to make hot chocolate, and share a mug with me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/real-life\/files\/2014\/01\/starbucks-hot-chocolate.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21151\" alt=\"starbucks hot chocolate\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/real-life\/files\/2014\/01\/starbucks-hot-chocolate.jpg\" width=\"452\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/real-life\/files\/2014\/01\/starbucks-hot-chocolate.jpg 452w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/real-life\/files\/2014\/01\/starbucks-hot-chocolate-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 452px) 100vw, 452px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We tried to get school done today- but it is really, really hard to compete with snow.<\/p>\n<p>The kids ended their day with a snowball fight with the neighbors. This was actually pretty cool because I live in a neighborhood where no one (and I mean no one) goes outside to play. The neighbors are actually a little older than my kids, but I have information from my nine year old that my seven year old was a beast and won the snowball fight for her team.<\/p>\n<p>The other good thing about the snow, the kids forgot about Disney for a few minutes so I only get fifteen questions about it instead of a hundred.<\/p>\n<p>As much as I dislike snow (and being cold) the snow was a very nice distraction today.<\/p>\n<p>I still haven&#8217;t done laundry, but nobody is complaining about it&#8230; yet.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>My husband has been deployed to the Middle East for 274 days.\u00a0 These are my real thoughts expressing my heart during his absence.\u00a0 I appreciate your prayers and kind words as we cope, adapt, and carry on without him until August 2014.\u00a0 To read from the beginning, <a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/real-life\/tag\/deployment-2013\/\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today it snowed.
