Whether it\u2019s the weather that keeps us inside or colds and flu, my four kids need to be active\u2014physically, intellectually, or with their senses.<\/p>\n<p>We recently pulled together this recipe of simple snow dough, and the kids played for hours. Which was fantastic, since we\u2019d been battling colds and fevers for days, and everyone was tired of everyone else. Even my twelve-year-old son jumped in on this snow play.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-26092\" title=\"Sensory Play with Snow Dough at The Happy Housewife\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Sensory-Snow-Dough.jpg\" alt=\"Sensory Play with Snow Dough at The Happy Housewife\" width=\"560\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Sensory-Snow-Dough.jpg 700w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Sensory-Snow-Dough-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The best part? <strong>You probably already have everything you need to make this snow dough.<\/strong> Warning, though\u2014sensory play can be messy. So you\u2019ll want to contain this in a foil pan, a play tray, or a shallow plastic container.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-26094\" title=\"Sensory Play with Snow Dough at The Happy Housewife\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Steps-to-Making-Snow-Dough.jpg\" alt=\"Sensory Play with Snow Dough at The Happy Housewife\" width=\"560\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Steps-to-Making-Snow-Dough.jpg 700w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Steps-to-Making-Snow-Dough-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/homeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Steps-to-Making-Snow-Dough-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Supplies Needed<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup white hair conditioner<\/li>\n<li>3 cups baking soda<\/li>\n<li>sparkly glitter (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once\u00a0you&#8217;ve gathered all the materials, have your kids mix it together in a container with their hands. This dough is super fun and molds really well. If you store it in an airtight container, it will keep for several months. If it dries out at all, add a bit more conditioner.<\/p>\n<p>We mixed our antarctic and our arctic toys, even though polar bears and penguins will never meet in the real world. My kids just like playing with all of their animals.
