Every night before going to be, set the kitchen timer for ten minutes. Then, spend that time doing a quick pick-up of the house.<\/p>\n

It’s amazing how much you can get done in ten minutes if you are focused.<\/p>\n

Who likes waking up to a sink full of dirty dishes anyway?<\/p>\n

If the house is already spotless,\u00a0spend that ten minutes doing extra things that rarely get done. For example, spot cleaning the walls, windexing the front door, or giving the bathroom a quick once over all are jobs that slip through the cracks at my house.<\/p>\n

The goal is to spend the\u00a0last ten minutes\u00a0before going to bed productively.<\/p>\n

I do\u00a0this with my kids too. Right before they go to bed we have a 10 minute tidy (taken from a kids television\u00a0show from way back). It helps them get into the habit of picking up their toys. If everything is already picked up they get a little extra free time each evening.<\/p>\n
