<\/a><\/p>\nI used clear silicon caulk but the paint does not stick to it! I finally got the mirror primer paint and tried that. It worked better than the regular primer but I still need to work on a few spots. So frustrating! I spent about two hours trying to figure out what to do with my caulk!<\/p>\n
I’m going to have to install molding around the top to cover the caulk that I can’t paint over. AHH!!!<\/p>\n I mean you know me, I love a good sawing session but I’m getting tired of cutting trim and measuring.<\/p>\n Before I decided on the molding solution I tried to cut out the caulk. That led to the wallpaper peeling up and then I ended up peeling off a section of wallpaper.<\/p>\n Then I had\u00a0to re-skim a section of the wall and the prime it again. I did not plan on spending one more second of my life peeling wallpaper, but I guess I was wrong.<\/p>\n This guy took the shower door out of my bathroom.<\/p>\n I know everyone said to leave it because of the splashing, but as you can see our shower is almost a foot deep and I don’t think the kids will be taking many showers in our shower anyway.<\/p>\n I’m so happy we took out the doors. It makes the bathroom look so much bigger. I’ll probably get a light shower curtain to replace the doors for now.<\/p>\n Bathroom before.<\/p>\n Here’s another look at the shower without doors and some more of the primed walls.<\/p>\n We also started putting the half bath together. I absolutely love how this bathroom is turning out. It is going to be\u00a0so beautiful. I can’t remember if I mentioned previously that I decided to put the wood floors in the bathroom. I’m so glad I did!<\/p>\n New vanity for the half bath, I’ll get a better picture once the sun decides to shine again around here.<\/p>\n I also got a fan for the kitchen. Since we don’t have a gas stovetop I decided to go with a ceiling fan instead of an expensive hood over my island. Everything I read said a ceiling fan would work just as well so we are giving it a try.<\/p>\n We don’t have any other lights installed in the kitchen and it was pouring rain all day today so it is hard to see the fan, but it is similar to the fan we put in the family room.<\/p>\n However this photo really shows off my knock down kitchen ceiling. LOVE IT!<\/p>\n One of the things about renovating is that when one thing looks nice all the other things look awful!<\/p>\n This vent had seen better days and because it was dented up I decided to replace it instead of paint it.<\/p>\n After all the construction dust in the house I knew it would be so gross inside, and it was.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I have to do some touch up paint with the new cover because it wasn’t the same size as the old cover, but nothing major.<\/p>\n I’m almost finished cutting all the trim and quarter round. I have one closet to go!<\/p>\n The quarter round needs to be painted and I need to install all the trim, but the hard part is over!<\/p>\n I \u00a0usually spend about half my time at the house working on the house and the other half of my time at the house working. My office moves based on where the least dust is in the house and today it was in the family room.<\/p>\n My mom helped clean up the green room because it was still full of construction dust. Now that we have floors we are trying to minimize the amount of dirt and dust that we have in the home.<\/p>\n It looks so much better! The wall won’t be finished before we move in because we are building closets and built ins on one side so we will probably just cover it for now.<\/p>\n Tomorrow we get all the appliances and will be another full day at the house as we prepare for moving day!<\/p>\n Don\u2019t miss a renovation update!
