<\/a><\/p>\nHere’s a kitchen preview. This is the view looking into the kitchen from the dining room.<\/p>\n
This view is looking\u00a0is from the brick wall at the kitchen.<\/p>\n I really like the way it is coming together.<\/p>\n Of course the weekend wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Home Depot. My girls LOVE going with me, as you can see from Cora’s face. She insisted that she carry the Goof Off through the store.<\/p>\n We also picked out a toilet for the half bath and a cactus. Because when your 18 year old gives up almost every\u00a0Saturday to work on the house and take his little sisters to Home Depot the least you can do is buy him a Christmas Cactus.<\/p>\n We also had a little bit of excitement when the line for the ice maker was pulled through the already installed cabinets.<\/p>\n We ended up cutting a bigger hole and my ten year old was able to stick her long skinny arm in there and grab it. It was a tense couple of minutes because we thought we might have to undo all the work we had done installing the cabinets and making sure they were level, etc.<\/p>\n We also got the new faucets installed in my bathroom.<\/p>\n My bathroom is turning into a nightmare project, but I’ll update you once I have a happy ending. If there isn’t a happy ending just know that we have a few other bathrooms we can use until we can afford to fix it up right!<\/p>\n Remember the old faucets?<\/p>\n So much better, don’t you think!<\/p>\n Yesterday I cut all the trim for the areas\u00a0of the house that have hardwood floors. I have a love\/ hate relationship with trim. I actually like doing it, except when the walls are crooked or bowed or the floors are unlevel. Then I hate it.<\/p>\n I also dislike caulking, which is a part of the whole trim thing.<\/p>\n I LOVE using the saw. I wish I could saw everything. It is kind of like trimming shrubbery, addictive. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Now that we have floors the kids are begging to sleep here. They even went as far as to set up the air mattress to convince us it was a good idea!<\/p>\n We brought over a few of their toys so they could have something to do when we didn’t have a job for them. We will probably spend a night or two over here before we get our stuff but I’m not ready to sleep on the floor quite yet!<\/p>\n We have a huge week planned with finishing up ALL the projects. Thank goodness my mother-in-law is providing\u00a0Thanksgiving dinner, because if not we’d be eating pizza!<\/p>\n Don\u2019t miss a renovation update!
