<\/a><\/p>\nI also went to two tile places, as well as Home Depot and Lowes trying to find tile for our half bath. I don’t think I’m a picky person, but I cannot seem to find the right tile. I’m going to a few more places tomorrow so hopefully I’ll find something!<\/p>\n
Yesterday I started painting the vanity doors with Annie Sloan chalk paint, pure white.<\/p>\n
The paint is supposed to cover anything, and it does. It covered the black vanity really well, although it will need a few coats of paint.<\/p>\n

I’m trying to decide if I want to use the clear wax or the dark wax when I’m finished. I’m not sure how the dark wax looks on pure white, so if you have suggestions let me know.<\/p>\n Here are the\u00a0black cabinets after one coat. I need to do something to the inside of the cabinets, they have a funny smell, but I think Killz will take care of it.<\/p>\n Even with the one coat of paint I can already see what a difference the white vanity will make in the bathroom.<\/p>\n I also started painting our yellow tile bathroom with the gray paint we used in the rest of the house.<\/p>\n I really wanted to try a painted ceiling so I figured a small bathroom would be the perfect place to try it. I took some of the pure white we used for the trim and mixed it with Front Porch which was the color from the rest of the house. It is hard to see in the picture above, but that is the ceiling painted with the lightened gray paint.<\/p>\n After the ceiling was painted I started on the walls. I think the gray will look good with the yellow. I can’t wait to take off all the paper so you can get a better idea of what it will look like.<\/p>\n If you remember, the bathroom looked like this when we bought the house.<\/p>\n Looking at this picture reminds me that I kept the mirror. I need to find it in the garage and paint the trim so we can reuse it.<\/p>\n We replaced all the flying saucer lights today with LED’s and the difference is amazing. The light is whiter and brighter, plus they kind of disappear into the ceiling when they are off, so you don’t really notice them.<\/p>\n I also started spraying the handles and hinges from the bathroom cabinets. I bought metallic spray paint and white. So far I like white better than metallic, but I’ll need to see it in better light before I make a decision.<\/p>\n I’m already spending so much money replacing receptacles and hinges I’m going to try and reuse these if I can.<\/p>\n The wood floors were delivered today, they go in starting on Monday.<\/p>\n We got a ton done today, but we have so much more to do before the floors are installed.
