I’m sooooooo disappointed. Today we had a handyman come to the house to install trim and see if he could help fix the awful drywall job. The longer we looked at the job the more issues we found.<\/p>\n

It will take a few days to get the house ready for painting and we have to pay a second person to redo the job. We are also going to put orange peel on all the walls that were skimmed because the texture is so off from the other walls.<\/p>\n

We were hoping to be able to get it done quickly so we could stick close to our painting schedule. These three rushed over to the house to help the handyman sand\u00a0the walls.<\/p>\n

The did an amazing job and their hard work shaved a day off what we have to pay the new guy.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the house is not ready to paint, and since our painter has a few other jobs\u00a0we won’t start on paint until at least the middle of next week.<\/p>\n

Since the floors go in after the paint and kitchen goes in after the floors, it pushes us back two weeks which is a really long time since there isn’t anything\u00a0we can do to speed up the process.<\/p>\n

The house is basically prepped for painting and tomorrow we’re going over to help tape for the orange peel. Hopefully my years of taping off walls will pay off and we can\u00a0save on labor for the handyman.<\/p>\n

The good news is that if this is our biggest set back, it isn’t that bad. It also gives us time to get a few extra things done\u00a0from phase 2.<\/p>\n

Hopefully there will be lots of progress made tomorrow!<\/p>\n
