{"id":25561,"date":"2013-04-30T09:00:21","date_gmt":"2013-04-30T13:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/?p=25561"},"modified":"2020-06-10T15:19:57","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T19:19:57","slug":"how-to-make-a-puzzle-card","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/how-to-make-a-puzzle-card\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Make a Puzzle Card"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25565 alignnone\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle4.jpg\" alt=\"puzzle4\" width=\"500\" height=\"354\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle4.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle4-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Puzzle cards are a fun craft for kids to make and the recipient gets to have fun by putting their puzzle card together! \u00a0 The blank puzzles that are available in craft stores are overpriced and usually only contain a few puzzle pieces. \u00a0 I created a homemade puzzle card using a wooden puzzle from the dollar. \u00a0The result was\u00a0a high quality puzzle card that contained my desired amount of puzzle pieces.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Make a Puzzle Card<\/h3>\n<h4>Supplies Needed<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 puzzle<\/li>\n<li>White matte spray paint<\/li>\n<li>Sharpies, acrylic paint, and other items you may want to use to decorate your puzzle card.<\/li>\n<li>Envelope<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Instructions<\/h4>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0Obtain a puzzle. \u00a0<\/strong>I was able to purchase a wooden puzzle for $1 from the dollar store. \u00a0I found that the dollar store had a variety of different sized \u00a0puzzles. \u00a0You can also reuse one you have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Spray paint your puzzle.\u00a0<\/strong>Outside, I spray painted my puzzle white. \u00a0It took 2 coats for the puzzle to turn completely white.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Let the puzzle dry. <\/strong>Let your puzzle dry overnight. \u00a0It is very important that your puzzle is completely dry before decorating it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25563 alignnone\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle1.jpg\" alt=\"puzzle1\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Decorate your puzzle. \u00a0<\/strong>I decorated my puzzle card using colored Sharpies. \u00a0Acrylic paint would also work well when decorating these puzzles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25564 alignnone\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle2.jpg\" alt=\"puzzle2\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle2.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle2-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>5. Make sure you have some color on every puzzle piece. <\/b>Since your recipient does not have a photo to look at when putting their puzzle together, make sure that each puzzle piece has some color on it. \u00a0If you are using a puzzle with a large amount of pieces, then you may want to consider numbering your puzzle pieces.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25562 alignnone\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle6.jpg\" alt=\"puzzle6\" width=\"500\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle6.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2013\/03\/puzzle6-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>6.
