I love stained glass and the joy that it brings to windows.\u00a0 My 8-year-old daughter actually helped me make this cardinal which made it even more special.\u00a0 Plus, it was super inexpensive. \u00a0 I didn&#8217;t have to buy anything to make it and it was so much fun!<\/p>\n<h3>Faux Stained Glass<\/h3>\n<p>Originally inspired by\u00a0<a target = \"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/suzyssitcom.com\/2011\/01\/feature-friday-faux-stained-glass.html\" target=\"_blank\">this Peacock<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Supplies Needed<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>8 x 10 inch Frame with Glass<\/li>\n<li>Permanent marker<\/li>\n<li>Acrylic Paints (Colors of your choice plus black.)<\/li>\n<li>2 bottles of White Glue that dries clear (One for black outline and one for other colors.)<\/li>\n<li>Q-tips<\/li>\n<li>Paint brushes<\/li>\n<li>Toothpicks<\/li>\n<li>Paper Towels<\/li>\n<li>Paper Plates<\/li>\n<li>Coloring Sheet or Stain Glass Template (I found tons of these for free by just Googling.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Instructions<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Take the glass out of the frame.<\/li>\n<li>Lay the template under the glass.<\/li>\n<li>Trace the outline with a permanent marker.<\/li>\n<li>Add a few drops of black paint to a bottle of glue.\u00a0 It only takes a few drops.\u00a0 Shake the bottle until the glue is mixed well.<\/li>\n<li>Gently outline the traced permanent marker with the glue paint mixture.\u00a0 Use a toothpick to correct any mess-ups.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Stain-Glass-for-Kids.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24446\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Stain-Glass-for-Kids.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Stain-Glass-for-Kids.jpg 320w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Stain-Glass-for-Kids-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Wait overnight or a few hours until the paint is completely dry and hardened.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Faux-Stain-Glass-Cardinal.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24445\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Faux-Stain-Glass-Cardinal.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Faux-Stain-Glass-Cardinal.jpg 320w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/11\/Faux-Stain-Glass-Cardinal-228x300.jpg 228w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Prepare your palette of paints for your project.\u00a0 Pour a little mound of glue and add one drop of paint.
