popular in antibacterial products which has also <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/22891308\" target=\"_blank\">recently been proven<\/a> to impair muscle and skeletal contractions by up to 25 percent\u2014within <em>one hour<\/em><\/li>\n<li>1,4 dioxane &#8211; a probable human carcinogen<\/li>\n<li>Phthalates and parabens &#8211; known endocrine disruptors<\/li>\n<li>Formaldehyde &#8211; \u00a0a probable human carcinogen as well as eye, skin, and respiratory irritant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.safecosmetics.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Campaign for Safe Cosmetics<\/a>\u2014comprised of 175 nonprofit organizations with 1.7 million members, including the Environmental Working Group and the American Nurses Association\u2014has been pushing big companies for years to clean up their act.\u00a0 You can check the safety of the ingredients in your cosmetics and personal care products by typing them into <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ewg.org\/skindeep\/\" target=\"_blank\">EWG\u2019s Skin Deep Cosmetic Database<\/a>, where you\u2019ll receive a hazard rating for the ingredient and even the product itself.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, we can look online for natural DIY face masks and home remedies.\u00a0 Here are some to get you started.<\/p>\n<h3>Sunburn Salve<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/08\/aloe.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23283 alignnone\" title=\"aloe\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/08\/aloe.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/08\/aloe.jpg 400w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2012\/08\/aloe-300x191.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 carrots<\/li>\n<li>1 cucumber<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup coconut or sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup aloe vera gel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finely grate the vegetables in a large pan with coconut or sesame oil over low heat for 30 minutes.\u00a0 Strain the liquid and add the aloe vera gel;
