If it has been a while since the last cleaning here are some tips for cleaning your window track.

Remove the screen if possible.

Using a vacuum with a hose attachment, vacuum up all the loose dust, dirt, and dead bugs.

Then using a damp cloth (I use a bucket of water with a squirt of dish soap) wipe away the rest of the dirt and grime. If your windows are new or not too dirty this should clean them adequately. If you have older windows or haven’t cleaned them in five years you’ll want to continue to the next step.

Use a window track cleaning brush dipped in soapy water to scrub the track. This should remove any remaining dirt or grime. Wipe clean with a cloth.

If you have stuck on dirt that won’t come off try using a butter or putty knife to scrape it off. I’ve only had to use a knife once, but it does work.

For more ideas to help you simplify and organize one day at a time, visit the Organized in 365 Archives.

Have you shared a great organizing tip on your website?
