Or just like making homemade gifts? Either way, homemade sugar scrub is a great (and frugal) way to give a <em>sweet<\/em> gift this Valentine&#8217;s Day or a great way to pamper yourself! There are SO many different recipes out there, some very simple and some with specialty oils &amp; powders I don&#8217;t have. So, I kept it simple&#8211;all the ingredients were things I had in the kitchen (consequently, the scrub smells like baking).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Recipe<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3\/4 C sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 T colored sugar crystals (pink for Valentine&#8217;s day, red for Christmas etc.)<\/li>\n<li>4 T Canola oil<\/li>\n<li>1 t vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>(optional: add 4-5 drops of any additional extract or essential oils you have in whatever &#8220;flavor&#8221; you like)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*some recipes call for extra virgin olive oil, but I found that the scent of the oil was hard to disguise<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mix sugars together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29494\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub1.jpg\" alt=\"sugar scrub1\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stir in oil &amp; extracts (just enough for the sugar to be well-coated, not runny)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29496\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub2.jpg\" alt=\"sugar scrub2\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2011\/02\/sugar-scrub2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place in a fun\/decorative jar (this amount fit perfectly in an 8 oz. canning jar), add some ribbon, a decorative label, and give a <em>sweet<\/em> gift&#8230;or&#8230;go fill up the bath and pamper yourself a little. I used this on the back of my hands (rough from the dry winter weather) and they have been\u00a0<em>so<\/em> soft the last couple of days!
