If you don&#8217;t have cookie cutters you could use a glass to cut circles. Make sure you have lots of helpers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2010\/12\/IMG_5111.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17304\" title=\"salt dough ornaments\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2010\/12\/IMG_5111.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also make sure someone is watching the baby&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2010\/12\/IMG_5112.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17305\" title=\"salt dough ornaments\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2010\/12\/IMG_5112.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Put the shapes on a cookie sheet. Then take a sharp object (I used a meat thermometer) to put a small hole in each shape where you will insert the ribbon. Make sure the hole goes all the way through the dough, because it will close up slightly while baking.<\/p>\n<p>Bake the salt dough ornaments for 4 to 6 hours at 200 degrees or until hardened.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2010\/12\/IMG_5119.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17306\" title=\"salt dough ornaments\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/home-management\/files\/2010\/12\/IMG_5119.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the ornaments are finished baking let them cool completely. The ornaments are now ready for painting.
