Until now the paleo chocolate cupcake had been a work in progress. As I have gained more experience working with these flours, I learned some of their unique traits and needs.\u00a0 However, I finally figured out how to create a lovely moist crumb that I so adore! <strong>Who doesn&#8217;t love a crumbly chocolate cupcake?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When I was young, my grandma used to take a box mix of cake, and <strong>use a whole can of pears as part of the liquid<\/strong>. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t know why, but that cake was always one of my \u00a0favorites as it was so deliciously moist! \u00a0I have since learned that pureed fruits and vegetables can add that moisture into any baked good.<\/p>\n<p>I am not sure why I didn&#8217;t think of it before, but I finally <strong>decided to use some <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/how-to-substitute-applesauce-for-oil\/\">applesauce<\/a> as part of the liquid ingredients<\/strong> to create a really moist cake, and it worked beautifully. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2017\/08\/Paleo-Chocolate-Cupcakes-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28535\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2017\/08\/Paleo-Chocolate-Cupcakes-4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" fruits and vegetables would work too, I just have not tested them.<\/p>\n<p>We have several frostings we rotate though&#8230;.but you can top these beauties with any favorite frosting. \u00a0For this simple frosting, <strong>I melted some dark chocolate and butter and added a few splashes of milk to thin and sea salt and vanilla for flavor.<\/strong> \u00a0We also love <a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/buttercream-frosting\/\">traditional buttercream<\/a>, and chocolate avocado frosting as well!<\/p>\n<p>If you are looking for other chocolate paleo
