It really takes them to the gourmet\/utterly amazing level.\u00a0 Unfortunately, not all pumpkins and squashes <strong>should<\/strong> be baked and eaten.<\/p>\n<p>Like any fruit or vegetable, picking the best and ripest one ensures success and mouthwatering results. \u00a0On my blog I go into some detail about <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tessadomesticdiva.com\/2011\/10\/how-to-bake-your-own-pumpkin-or-winter.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">choosing and baking your own squash and pumpkin<\/a>. \u00a0Toni has instructions for <a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/how-to-cook-a-pumpkin\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cooking a pumpkin in the slow cooker<\/a>. Ultimately, you can use a can too, but I wanted to encourage you to use fresh!<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t tried fresh pumpkin, I highly recommend it. Did you know that when you purchase canned pumpkin it is actually a mix of squashes. Knead a couple of times with your hands to make a cohesive dough.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-29046-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Lay out a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap.
