While shopping at the commissary I noticed that buying organic carrots in bulk was less per pound that buying a bag of regular baby carrots (what I normally buy).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19314\" title=\"organic carrots\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots.jpg 550w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I peeled and sliced the carrots so they were the same size as baby carrots (which my kids love).<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re getting organic vegetables for less with just a small amount of extra work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19315\" title=\"organic carrots1\" src=\"\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots1.jpg 550w, https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/files\/2011\/10\/organic-carrots1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I store them in a container in the fridge and the kids can grab them for a snack whenever they are hungry.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have a family that can eat five pounds of carrots in a week you can freeze them for use in pastas, smoothies, stews, and <a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/tags\/crock-pot\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/tag\/crock-pot-recipes\/\">crock pot recipes<\/a> .
