My kids love them for breakfast or a snack and I always double the recipe.<\/p>\n<p>You can freeze these brown sugar muffins or pack the leftovers in their lunchbox.<\/p>\n<p>When I created this recipe I had an oven that always cooked things quicker than most ovens. Please adjust your baking time accordingly. If you are making regular sized muffins you might need to bake them for 20-22 minutes. It&#8217;s also a great item to bring to a potluck brunch. They are always a big hit.<\/p>\n<p><em>They are also a great weight watchers snack! batter.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-29852-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Add a pinch of brown sugar. (Or a little more)<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-29852-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Cover the brown sugar with batter.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-29852-step-0-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-29852-step-0-6\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.<\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n<div id=\"recipe-video\"><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>What&#8217;s great about these brown sugar muffins (or any muffin) is that you can customize them to your own taste. Some simple reader substitutions are below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Substitute <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehappyhousewife.com\/cooking\/how-to-substitute-applesauce-for-oil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">applesauce instead of oil<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Try cinnamon applesauce instead of oil (yum!).<\/li>\n<li>Use powdered milk.<\/li>\n<li>Increase the fiber by adding shredded apple, cranberries, or bran.<\/li>\n<li>Drizzle with caramel.<\/li>\n<li>Add blueberries to the mix.<\/li>\n<li>Brush muffins with melted butter after cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Substitute regular milk with coconut milk.<\/li>\n<li>Add a pinch of nutmeg and a splash of vanilla.<\/li>\n<li>Use one mashed banana as a substitute for the egg and oil.<\/li>\n<li>Mix in <a target = \"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2VR9VKu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\">cinnamon chips<\/a> (you can find these during the holidays).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember to add your modifications to the comments below!
