In our family, you are allowed to request your birthday dessert (within reason), and I usually try and make these desserts from scratch since it is cheaper and healthier. This year he requested an ice cream cake. You will need to make either two round cakes, two square cakes or a 9\u00d713 and cut it in half.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">While the cake is cooling fill a sandwich size bag with oreo type cookies.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Smash the cookies with a rolling pin or hammer.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Once the cake is cool allow the ice cream to sit out for a few minutes until it is soft. Then scoop ice cream on top of one cake.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Spread out the ice cream so it covers the cake completely.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Then sprinkle the cookie mixture on top of the ice cream.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-6\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Put in the freezer to set.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-7\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">After about 30 minutes, take the cake out of the freezer and place the second cake on top of the ice cream\/ cookie layer.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-8\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Frost with cool whip and decorate to your liking.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-30265-step-0-9\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Put cake back in the freezer until serving.
