What do you think?

This is a bit of a deviation from my usual blog topics, but I was curious to see what people thought of this. My brother forwarded this to me. It seems that Kellogg’s has come up with an interesting idea for fruit snacks.
What do you think about this?

It looks like a really fun idea. I don’t think I would buy it though- between the really high sugar content and the hydrogenated oil; real fruit always beats fruit snacks.
What will they come up with next? Lincoln log fruit snacks? Naw….I guess legos are the rage right now - Indiana Jones legos I’m told.
I’m with Jennifer. I might buy them for a special occasion but definately not for a regular snack. I bet they are pricey too.
Looks like junk food to me, but my kids would think it’s so cool.
Looks fun, but I’d be scared younger kids would try and eat real lego pieces and choke. It’s hard enough to keep the things out of their mouths as it is!
I like the idea but im afraid kids would attempt to eat real leggos. It almost seems like a hazard to me…
Sounds like Kellogg’s and Lego have teamed up to to teach kids how to choke. “Mommy, why can’t I eat the Legos from my toy box too?” I can’t understand how this one made it past the legal department.
Oh good grief. My first thought (after ‘only in America’, LOL) was ‘what happens when little kids who are used to eating these pick up a real Lego block by mistake and end up choking to death?’
But then, perhaps my macabre mood factors in here, LOL.
Cheers,

I’m not concerned since my granddaughter is past this stage, but some people have said that it may make toddlers and younger preschoolers think it’s ok to try to eat their real Legos, which could be a choking hazard.
I think this is the dumbest idea. Young kids put everything in their mouths. We try to teach them what is edible, what is not. This only confuses the learning process. What will they think of next? Why not put kool-aide in little windex looking bottles, then they can spray the drink in their mouth. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
We’ve actually bought them and there is no way a child could think they are a real lego. As for the ingredients, definately a rare treat.
Wow! I think that is a bad idea. Little children aren’t going to realize the difference between the fruit snacks and actual legos.
We already bought these a few times and my kids think that they are great!
I don’t worry about confusion….My kids are 2, 5 & 7 and they can tell the difference between a fruit snack and a toy.
Rebecca: they are about the same price as regular fruit snacks, but just like the regular ones, they go on sale fairly regularly and are pretty cheap after coupon.
Oh - and FYI: the picture on the box is somewhat deceiving. They really DON’T look like “real” legos (sharp corners, super-bright coloring). Unless your child is under about 15 months (too young for fruit snacks anyway, IMO), they shouldn’t confuse them with the real thing

My son loved these at first but was quickly bummed to find out that you can’t build with these. Eggo makes lego waffles as well. We don’t purchase fruit snacks often, but when we do I always let the kids pick the ones they want (from the ones on sale of course). I think that if my child can’t tell the difference between eating a soft fruit snack and a hard lego…well, I need to work on my parenting skills a little.
i bought 2 boxes of them for my son’s Lego birthday party (he turned 6)- i put one on each of the cupcakes and one bag in each goodie bag for the guests- but definitely just a treat and not for everyday!
