We’re On TV!

March 2, 2009 · 53 comments

We were interviewed last week by a local tv station and the segment aired tonight. I am glad we had a chance to talk about frugal living to a larger audience. It was fun, although I think we cleaned more than we ever had in our lives before the camera crew showed up! If you cannot view the video on my site, you can also view it on the station’s website.

I saw it on TV tonight, as I live in the same area. I saw the website you were looking at in the video, and said “Hey, I have that website marked as a favorite!” Now I know why! Great job on the saving…how do you manage to save half of your salary? That is awesome!!!

I enjoy your blog. Relatively new reader, but I think it’s great!

What a great interview. And congrats on cutting your grocery bill in half. That’s an awesome final comment in the segment! :)

Well done! It was nice to put video to all the reading I’ve been doing on your site (I feel I know you even more than I did before). You are a wonderful example of how, with a little extra planning, it can be done! Great job!

I’d love to see the segment, but with our slow dial-up, that won’t happen.

I thought about contacting our local newspaper to see if they would be interested in having someone do a weekly column on creative ways to save money. After all, our city is #3 in the nation for fastest-dying cities. Everyone here is looking to save money because they never know if they are going to have a job in the morning.

I guess one of the upsides to this poor economy will be more focus on being frugal. Kudos to you and your family. I look forward to reading your posts and have taken advantage of some of your great tips. Now, I am off to make some bread machine pita bread, thanks to your post. My daughters like to make their own pizzas with them. Cheers!

This was a great interview and you all looked relaxed and at ease. I hate being on t.v. My dad was interviewed so many times and they asked me once but I was dragging my feet. They interviewed my son instead and he loved it. I was interviewed once and that was enough for me. You, however, didn’t look nervous at all!
