Silk Heart Health

December 15, 2009 · 40 comments

Recently Silk asked if I would try their new Heart Health soy milk. My husband was a bit skeptical, since he loves the Silk Chocolate milk. I brought home a half gallon from the store last week and we were pleasantly surprised.

It tasted great and according to the Silk website:

A recent study found that people who enjoyed three servings of Silk Heart Health per day for four weeks, as part of a sensible diet, lowered their cholesterol by 7%.

The folks at Silk are concerned about your health and want to give 10 readers a free half gallon of Silk Heart Health and a pedometer. I highly recommend wearing a pedometer. The average woman takes about 5,000 steps a day, and I have read that taking 10,000 steps a day can help you lose weight. A pedometer can help you track your steps and help you decide whether you want the close parking space or the one out in left field!

For extra savings you can print a $.55 off coupon for Silk Heart Health.

To enter the giveaway leave a comment. 10 random winners will be chosen on Friday December 18th.

Don’t forget to check back soon for another giveaway- during my Day of Giveaways.

I love trying to incorporate alternative “milks” in our diet. While I am used to drinking cow’s milk, I like to keep almond and soy milk on hand for baking and making lattes.

I would love to try the Silk soy milk. Our family has tried soy milk in the past but nothing recently. With the combo of soy milk and a pedometer to lose weight- definitely worth the try!

Aren’t there some health risks with Soy milk. Like a naturally occuring estrogen hormone that can bad if overconsumed?

16 Betty December 15, 2009 at 2:39 pm

I love Silk, and would love to have a free half gallon. Thanks so much!

17 Justine December 15, 2009 at 3:27 pm

This is one of those items that I’d love to try, but I’m a little too doubtful about the outcome to actually want to spend money on it! A free “sample” would be perfect so I could know whether to buy it or not :)
Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I have never tried Silk, but I would like to.

30 Amanda M December 15, 2009 at 11:42 pm

I had to wear a pedometer for a class in college. I can’t remember how many steps I took but I remember it was amazing! I don’t walk all over a campus anymore but I would love to see how many steps I take chasing a 1, 2 and 4 year old!

31 Jessie C. December 16, 2009 at 2:31 am

Love Silk Soy, we are a soymilk family!

32 Tanya December 16, 2009 at 3:20 am

Love your blog but have never tried soymilk. The pedometer sounds like an awesome idea – I’ve recently started walking more to start getting a little more exercise in my daily routine

33 Rebecca December 16, 2009 at 8:26 am

Soy milk is soooo yum!

38 Dorie December 16, 2009 at 9:35 pm

My husband uses this as he can not do milk. Just yesterday I was saying how I would love a pedometer!!!

39 Lawanna December 17, 2009 at 8:55 am

I’d love a pedometer (it’s on my wish list, but I don’t think anyone’s actually going to give it to me). I’d really like to know how many steps I take. I think it would help motivate me to walk a bit more each day.

40 Suzanne December 17, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Yummy, sounds good. Thanks!
