Cora Jane arrived this morning at 10:01 a.m. weighing in at 5 pounds 4 ounces! The delivery went well, but Toni is understandably tired. She’s doing her best to rest right now.
Baby Cora was born four weeks early, so her lungs are still a bit underdeveloped. Consequently, she’s been moved to the NICU because she’s having a little trouble breathing. Please pray that Cora’s breathing improves and that God would grant Toni and her husband comfort during this stressful time, especially since the NICU is a new experience for them.
Your prayers are coveted.
Joy Miller (a friend of Toni’s)

Congratulations to your addition! I was lucky enough to avoid an April 1st birthday but only by 4 hours! I’m on March 31st.
Will keep you in thoughts.
xx Jessica

Please let Toni know she is in my thoughts and prayers. I just delivered our 5th child on January 27 of this year and she was 8 weeks early. She was 4 lbs. 7 oz. when she was born so I completely understand what she is going through. She spent 3 weeks in the Special Care Nursery (NICU here in Ohio) and she has been home for the last 6 weeks. I pray that everything goes well for Cora, Toni & her family.
Wishing Toni and Cora (what a beautiful name!) a speedy recovery! Congrats to the family!
We are praying hard for Baby Cora and for all of you! Sending lots of love your way!

Praying, here in Canada.
I’ve had two of my babes in the NICU (my 5yr old and 11 moth old were both 3 weeks early and had to spend time in there), so I can relate to the stress…but both are now healthy active and silly kids! You’d never know they were premature.
Oh, and a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the whole family
Congratulations to the whole family, welcome to Cora Jane, and they’re definitely in our prayers! What joyful news…
Oh I wish the best for them. My youngest went through the same thing and had the C-PAP in the NICU. Toni, feel better and Cora is a beautiful name! We’ll be praying for you guys.

Best wishes guys! I love the name. You’re in my prayers
Good thoughts and prayers winging their way to Cora Jane.
Both my boys spent quite awhile in the hospital in NICU. My first one was 5 weeks early and my other one was even earlier. All it takes is time. Their lungs developed just fine, and the scariest part is all the wires. They could get a little jandice, but that’s not a big deal. Time and prayers will do the trick and she’ll be home in no time. It will give you a little time to get recovered while she’s being cared for by professionals that do this everyday.
~Kim
I’m praying for your family! Cora…what a pretty name!

Congratulations and Welcome to baby Cora. Prayers are being said for her quick improvement so that she can go home with her family.
Many hugs and prayers for baby Cora and the family.
(((Toni)))
I am so glad all is going well, the nicu is no place for a new baby and mommy to be. I pray baby cora starts breathing better on their own and back on their own home where they belong. Thanks for the update Joy.
I hope that baby Cora’s NICU stay is very short and uneventful. Thinking and praying for your family!
God bless,
Amanda

We are praying. Our (now very healthy) 7-year-old came 4 weeks early and spent a coupel of weeks in NICU. We know how stressful it is, and will keep you in prayer.
praying she comes home soon!
glad shes here, hope everything continues to go better at the NICU.
Toni, I am praying for you and your little Cora. Congratulations!! Every child is so precious!!
My little Micah was born at 32 weeks last summer and spent 23 days in the NICU, then came home on the apnea/brady monitor, due to continued heart rate drifts and breathing irregularities. The whole bedrest/NICU experience grew me in ways I never would wish on anyone, but looking back, my heart is filled with gratitude to God for His care and protection over my life and my son’s life. I’m praying that God’s grace and His peace will be unbelievably real for you during this time, in the same way that I experienced. God is so good!
If you look at my little guy today, you would never know he was a preemie! He is a perfectly healthy 10-month-old (8 mos. adjusted) little guy!
I will be praying for your children too–I only have one other child (she was 17 months when I was hospitalized on bedrest), so she spent a month and a half being cared for by other people.
God will carry you through this time! His promises never fail!
Congratulations!!! How wonderful!!!
Toni and family,
I’m thinking of you and praying for you all. I had a 3lb 9oz baby girl who was born 9 weeks early. Preemies are true little fighters and stronger than they look! Today mine is quite a feisty 3&1/2 year-old…I look forward to hearing reports of Baby Cora getting stronger and healthier with each passing day! You are an inspiration to us all! Have faith and stay strong & positive!
Heather
I am praying for Toni and Baby Cora.

They are certainly in my prayers!

Praying for baby Cora
Congratulations! I have been following your blog for a week or two now, but have yet to leave a comment. Many prayers for your little one, and you as you recover and learn the NICU.
My prayers and wishes goes out to you all I know how nerve racking it is to have a preemie. My twins were 7 weeks early Cora Shay @ 4.3 and Kira Lynn @ 4.8. God Bless ya’ll and may Gods good will and grace give baby Cora and Toni what they need to get well and come home soon.
Lots of love,
The Dixon Family
Praying for you. I’ve had three in the NICU and remember the first days being in there.
My daughter, Addyson was born 15 weeks early on April 25, 2007 and our stay in the NICU was 4 months. I pray your stay is much smoother and shorter. If you get a chance, you should check out http://www.parentingthetiniestofmiracles.blogspot.com It’s a preemie blog that a friend of mine writes. Best wishes!
God Bless and Congrats! My son was born at 36 weeks and spent a week in the NICU too. He’s almost 11 months and doing well. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Congrats to the whole family! Wishing you the very best with the new baby, my prayers are with you.
Congratulations!!
Hopefully the time in NICU will be very short. I’ve had babies in there twice (32 weeks and 29 weeks) and you never get used to it. You’d think doing it once would have prepared us but it was just as hard as the first time.
